You saved for thirty years. Now make it pay you for thirty more.

Retirement changes the question — from “how much can we save?” to “how do we turn this into income that lasts?” We build one written plan that answers it: income, taxes, growth, and estate, coordinated by one fiduciary team instead of four separate opinions.

The checkup is a real conversation with a Houston advisor — not a screening call, not a sales script. You’ll hear which part of your plan needs attention first, and if we’re not the right firm for you, we’ll tell you that on the call.

Retirement planning at Impact! Partners Financial
Why it matters

Most families don’t have a plan. They have a portfolio.

A portfolio tells you what you own. A plan tells you what happens next — when to claim Social Security, which account to spend first, what your tax bill looks like at 75, and what your children are left holding.

The decisions that shape your retirement mostly happen in a narrow window around it — and several of them are one-time and irreversible. Claim Social Security early, take the wrong pension election, or miss the low-bracket Roth window, and there’s no do-over. A written plan exists so those calls get made deliberately, in order, and on paper.

This is the work we do all day, for one kind of family: Houston-area pre-retirees in the decade before the paychecks stop, and retirees making sure what they built keeps paying.

What the plan answers
When to claim Social Security — and what the timing is worth
Which account to spend first, and which to leave alone
Whether to convert to Roth — and in which tax years
How much risk the portfolio actually needs to take
Whether guaranteed income belongs in the picture at all
What transfers to your family, and how cleanly
How we work

One team, four strategies, in writing.

Most people arrive with four professionals — an investment manager, a CPA, an attorney, an insurance agent — and none of them talking to each other. We coordinate all four parts under one roof, and the plan lives on paper so your family inherits answers instead of questions.

01
Income first
A paycheck that shows up whether the market cooperates or not — built from Social Security timing, pensions, and a withdrawal plan that survives a bad first decade.
02
Taxes, sequenced
Roth conversions in the low-bracket window, withdrawal order, IRMAA, and the widow’s bracket — woven into the plan, not bolted on in April.
03
Growth sized to the plan
Enough growth to stay ahead of inflation, structured so a bad year never forces a bad decision. The benchmark is your plan, not an index.
04
Estate, in order
Beneficiaries, titling, and the inherited-IRA rules your children will live with — reviewed now, while corrections are still easy.
05
Written down
The plan exists on paper. Your spouse can follow it, your children can follow it, and the next review starts from the same page.
06
Reviewed as life changes
Tax law moves, markets move, families change. The plan gets re-checked on a schedule — not when something breaks.
What happens if you call

Three steps. No commitment until the last one.

No two plans are the same, but the path to one is — and at every step, your accounts stay exactly where they are.

1
The 15-minute checkup
You tell us where you are. We tell you which of the four quadrants needs attention first — and if we’re not the right firm, we say so on the call.
2
We build the written plan
Income, tax, growth, and estate — one document, built from your actual numbers. You’ll see exactly what we’d do and why, in plain language.
3
You decide, on your timeline
We walk the plan together. Implement it with us, take it elsewhere, or sit with it — the plan is yours either way.
The framework

The Family Wealth CircleTM

One family. Four strategies. One coordinated plan.

The outer ring is what life hands you — Social Security, Medicare, pensions, healthcare, and market risk. You don’t get a vote on those. Retirement planning is the whole circle working together — it’s the discipline that connects all four quadrants into one plan.

Common questions about retirement planning

If yours isn’t here, ask it on the 15-minute call — or bring it to one of our dinner seminars. We’d rather answer it early than late.

One written plan covering four coordinated strategies: income (Social Security timing, pension elections, withdrawal order), tax (Roth conversions, bracket management, IRMAA), growth (a portfolio sized to the plan), and estate (beneficiaries, titling, transfer). Plus ongoing reviews as life and law change.

The most valuable window is the five to ten years before retirement — while there’s still time to reposition assets, sequence conversions, and fix beneficiary errors. Already retired? The plan still matters: withdrawal order, tax management, and estate cleanup run the full length of retirement.

Usually, yes. Investment management is one quadrant of the circle. If nobody is coordinating your withdrawals with your tax brackets, your Social Security timing with your pension election, and your beneficiaries with your will — that’s the gap a plan closes.

No. Your accounts stay exactly where they are while we talk. The call is yours to learn something useful, and you decide what happens next on your own timeline.

The 15-minute checkup is free, and our fees are disclosed in writing before you ever become a client. You’ll know exactly what you’d pay and what it covers before you decide anything.

Yes. Every advisor at Impact! Partners Financial operates as a fiduciary, obligated to act in your best interest. We’re independent — no captive carrier, no house fund we’re pushed to recommend.
