The Family Wealth CircleTM

One circle. Four strategies. A plan your family can actually follow.

Most families arrive with four professionals and no plan — someone managing investments, someone doing taxes, an attorney who drew up a will years ago, and an insurance agent. None of them are talking to each other. The Circle is how we fix that.

The checkup is a real conversation with a Houston advisor — not a screening call, not a sales script. You’ll hear which part of your plan needs attention first, and if we’re not the right firm for you, we’ll tell you that on the call.

The framework

What you control, and what you don’t.

The outer ring is what life hands you. The four quadrants inside are what we build around it, with you — coordinated in one written plan instead of four separate opinions. Select a quadrant to see the work inside it.

15-Minute Checkup

The checkup is a real conversation with a Houston advisor — not a screening call, not a sales script. You’ll hear which part of your plan needs attention first, and if we’re not the right firm for you, we’ll tell you that on the call.

The outer ring

Five forces you’ll receive, whether you plan for them or not.

You don’t set the rules on any of these. What you do control is how much they cost you — and that comes down to timing, sequence, and having decided in advance.

Social Security
Claim at 62, 67, or 70? The spread between the right and wrong answer is often six figures over a retirement.
Medicare
Enrollment windows are unforgiving, and your income two years back sets your premium through IRMAA.
Pensions
Lump sum, single life, or survivor. A one-time, irreversible election that shapes the next thirty years.
Healthcare Costs
The single largest unplanned expense in most retirements, and the one families most often leave out.
Market Risk
A bad first decade does permanent damage if you’re withdrawing through it. Structure decides the outcome.
Why families choose us

Why this works here and not everywhere

Coordinating four strategies requires a firm structured to do it. Three things make that possible.

Independent fiduciary
Client-first by legal obligation, not marketing language. No quotas, no captive carrier, no house fund we’re pushed to recommend.
Tax expertise in-house
A great deal of what we find for clients is in the tax code, not the market. That work happens under this roof, not across town.
Multi-generational by default
Every plan is written for the family, not the account. Your children inherit answers instead of a folder of questions.
Common questions

Questions about the framework

If yours isn’t here, ask it on the 15-minute call — we’d rather answer it early than late.

Because a decision in one quadrant changes the answers in the others. Which account you withdraw from changes your tax bill. Your bracket changes whether a Roth conversion makes sense. That conversion changes what your children inherit. Four professionals each optimizing their own piece rarely produces an optimal plan.

That’s exactly what the 15-minute checkup answers. For most people approaching retirement it’s income or tax. For those already retired it’s often estate — beneficiary and titling errors are the single most common thing we find, and among the easiest to correct.

Your accounts stay exactly where they are while we talk. You decide what happens next on your own timeline. Plenty of people go through the process and decide the timing isn’t right — that’s a legitimate outcome.

It starts with fifteen minutes. If we go forward, building the full plan typically spans a few meetings over several weeks — long enough to gather what’s needed and short enough that nothing goes stale.
